# Reading your payout

For vendors > Your money · For vendors · https://vendordue.com/docs/vendor-reading-your-payout

**In short:** A payout is what the store owes you for the sales in a stretch of days. Open it to see every sale and refund on it, how each share was worked out, and the payments against it with their receipts. Press Looks right to me to confirm it, or ask about any line.

Who: Vendor. Where: Payouts > History.

Every payout on your page answers one question: why this amount? Here's how to read it, using a mug Alder Ceramics sold at Fernhill Pottery.

## Finding a payout

On **Payouts**, **History** lists every payout, newest first, grouped by month. Each has a name that says when it landed and which sales it covers, like "Landed 1 Oct, sales 3 to 30 September", and a number, like P-2026-0142.

**Live sales** shows sales that haven't reached a payout yet. "Every sale here can still change until its payout lands, for example if it is refunded."

## What's on it

Open a payout and you'll see, from the top:

- **Its total**, and where it stands: **Not paid yet**, **Part paid** with what's "still to come", or **Paid**.
- **Timeline**: when it landed, when you confirmed it, when it was paid.
- **Payment**: each payment the store recorded against it, how and when, with its receipt number. If what reached you differed, like a transfer abroad, it says so: "Paid $15.00 USD. Arrived as ₹1,250.00 INR."
- **Calculation**: what sold, the tax collected, and **Your share**.
- **The lines**: each sale and refund, with the product, the order number and the day.

## How a line is worked out

Press any line to see its working.

**The stoneware mug, Order #1047** (example)

| | |
| --- | ---: |
| List price | $120.00 |
| **Revenue** | **$120.00** |
| Tax added at checkout, not shared | $9.90 |
| Consignor rate | 60% |
| **Your share** | **$72.00** |

- **Revenue** is what the customer paid for the item, less discounts and tax.
- **Tax** is never part of your share or the store's. It's shown so the numbers match the customer's receipt.
- **Consignor rate** is the one in your agreement, for that item on that day. See [Your agreement and bills](https://vendordue.com/docs/vendor-agreement-and-bills).

A **refund** is a line of its own, with a minus: "Refund · 12 October 2026, -$36.00". The sale it refunds stays as it was, so you can see both.

Other lines you may see: **Booth rent** or another charge the store takes, **Opening balance** for something carried over from before VendorDue, and **Bill paid to the shop** when a bill came off your payout.

## Confirm it, or ask

- **Looks right to me** tells the store you've checked it. It shows on the payout's timeline as **Confirmed**.
- **Ask about this payout**, or **Ask about this line** on a single line, opens a message to the store with that payout or line attached. See [Messages with the store](https://vendordue.com/docs/vendor-messages).

## Take a copy

**Download** on a payout saves it as a PDF or spreadsheet. Under **Take a copy**, **Your earnings** covers the last six months, and **Every payout in a year** covers one year, for your own books or tax return.

Each payment also has its own receipt. Open it from the payment, or from the receipt email.

## When it looks wrong

### A sale is missing

Look in **Live sales**: it may be waiting on a later payout, for example until it ships. If it isn't there either, ask the store. A sale only counts once Shopify has it as paid in full.

### My share looks too low

Open the line. Its working shows the price, any discount and the rate used. If the rate isn't the one you agreed, ask about that line.

### The payout says paid, but nothing arrived

Open the payment. It says how and when the store paid, and the reference. Check that account, then ask the store with **Ask about this payout**.

## Common questions

**Can a payout change after it lands?** Its sales never change. A refund that comes later goes on your next payout as a line of its own.

**Why is tax shown if it isn't mine?** So your figures match what the customer paid. It's marked "not shared".

**Who sees that I pressed Looks right to me?** The store. It's on the payout's timeline for both of you.
