# Your PayPal or Venmo

For vendors > Your money · For vendors · https://vendordue.com/docs/vendor-paypal-venmo

**In short:** If your store pays through PayPal or Venmo, add your address on your Payouts page so they never have to type it. A change to it waits 48 hours, and we email you a link to stop it, so nobody can quietly redirect your money. It's optional; stores that pay by check or transfer don't need it.

Who: Vendor. Where: Payouts.

Some stores pay through PayPal or Venmo, straight from their own PayPal balance. To be paid that way, they need your address, and it's safest coming from you rather than typed by someone else.

## Add it

On **Payouts**, below what's owed and paid to you, press **Add PayPal or Venmo**. "Add one only if Fernhill Pottery pays you through PayPal or Venmo."

- **PayPal**: "The email on your PayPal account".
- **Venmo**: "The phone number on your Venmo account". "The email works too, if that is how you sign in to Venmo."

Press **Save**, and confirm it's you. The first address you add is used straight away: "Saved. This is where you get paid."

If you sell through several stores, add it at each store that pays this way.

> **Careful:** Check the address carefully. A payment sent to a typo can't be pulled back by the store or by VendorDue.

## Change it

Press **Change** beside your address. A change waits 48 hours before it's used: "Saved. The change takes effect in 48 hours, and we emailed you a link to stop it."

While it waits, your page says "Changing to" the new address on its day: "Until then, payments go to the address above." An email goes to your sign-in address and to your old payout address, each with **Stop this change**.

The wait is there in case someone else ever gets into your account. If you didn't make the change, press **Stop this change**, then change your password.

## Who sees it

- **The store** sees enough to recognise it on their screens, like Venmo •••• 0123. The full address goes only into the payment file an Admin downloads after confirming it's them.
- **Other vendors** never see it.
- It's encrypted with the store's own key before it's saved.

## When it looks wrong

### A payment says "Waiting for you"

PayPal sent it, but your PayPal account isn't ready to receive it, or the address isn't on an account yet. Sign in to PayPal and claim it. Unclaimed money goes back to the store after 30 days, and you're owed it again.

### A payment says "Came back"

It didn't reach you, for example because the account is closed. It's owed to you again, and the store pays it again. Check your address first, and change it if it's wrong.

### I got an email that my payout details are changing, and it wasn't me

Press **Stop this change** in that email straight away. It works once. Then sign in, change your password, and check **Devices** in **Account**.

## Common questions

**Can I be paid to my bank account?** Only by the store, outside VendorDue: transfer, check, cash or however you agree. VendorDue keeps PayPal and Venmo addresses only, never bank details.

**Do I pay a fee?** VendorDue charges you nothing. PayPal or Venmo may charge to receive some payments, depending on your account.

**Does adding PayPal mean I'm paid sooner?** No. It changes how the store can pay you, not when. See When you're paid.
