# Upcoming payouts

Payouts > Pay day · Guide · https://vendordue.com/docs/upcoming

**In short:** Upcoming shows every vendor's next payout before it lands: the day, the amount, how sure it is, and anything on hold. Open a vendor to see each sale, release a hold, or pay them now.

Who: Admin, Viewer. Where: Payouts > Upcoming.

**Payouts > Upcoming** is the week ahead in one page: what lands, when, and for whom. Check it a few days before a pay day and nothing on the day will surprise you.

## At the top

| Tile | Shows |
| --- | --- |
| **Next pay day** | The next day payouts land, what they add up to, how many vendors, and **Open until** |
| **On hold** | Money that can't be scheduled yet, like sales not shipped or inside the return window |
| **No date yet** | Vendors with cleared money that waits for something other than a day, like their ask. A vendor whose charges are more than their sales owes you instead, and it comes off their next payout |
| **Earned, not on a payout yet** | Everything vendors have earned that hasn't landed |

## The list

Days ahead, nearest first. Under each day, the vendors whose payouts land then, with the amount and its stage. **Today** is always at the top, even when "Nothing lands today."

Beside each amount is how sure it is. **Open until Sat, 31 Oct** means new sales up to that day can still join it. **Final** means nothing new can join, though a refund could still come off. See [How money is shown](https://vendordue.com/docs/how-money-is-shown#how-sure-an-amount-is).

Vendors whose money has no day are listed with what it waits for:

- "Waits until they're owed $50.00, your minimum"
- "Waits until they ask to be paid"
- "They owe you $42.00, which comes off their next payout"
- "Nothing has cleared yet"

**Calendar** shows the same months ahead on a calendar.

## A vendor's next money

Press a vendor to open their working sheet:

- **Earned**: everything not yet on a payout.
- **Cleared**: the part that's past its holds.
- **Lands** and a day: each payout ahead, with its amount and how sure it is.
- **On hold**: what's waiting, in words: "2 sales not shipped yet, $86.00", "$72.00 in the return window until 18 Sep".
- **Paid ahead**: if you paid them more than they were owed, "which comes off their next payout".

Under that, every sale, each opening its own working. A useful line appears when shipping is all that's in the way: "If it ships by Wed, 30 Sep, $72.00 joins the payout on Thu, 1 Oct."

## What you can do from here

- ****Release what is on hold**.** Ends the holds on their held sales today. They join the payout their dates give them. It pays nobody by itself. See [Holds](https://vendordue.com/docs/holds#releasing-a-hold-by-hand).
- ****Pay now**.** Lands a payout for them today, with what has cleared and any held sale you tick, and records how you paid in the same step. Or **Move to To pay** to land it now and pay it later. See [To pay and Pay now](https://vendordue.com/docs/to-pay#pay-now).
- ****Release****, on a vendor you're holding. Their payouts start landing again.

Only an Admin can release or pay. A Viewer sees everything here.

## When it looks wrong

### A vendor I expected isn't listed

Only vendors with money waiting are listed by day. The rest are summed up at the bottom: "7 more vendors have no sales waiting."

### The amount is less than I expected

Open the vendor. **On hold** says what isn't in it yet. Refunds since their last payout come off it, and so do charges due before the day.

### A sale is on hold that should have cleared

Open it from the vendor's sheet. Its timeline says what it waits for. If it's "not shipped yet" and you handed it over in the shop, mark it fulfilled in Shopify, or release it here.

## Common questions

**Is Upcoming exact?** For Final payouts, yes, unless a refund arrives. Open payouts can still grow as new sales clear.

**Can I make a payout land earlier?** Yes. Pay now lands it today. Or change the vendor's schedule, which affects later pay days.

**Why does a vendor show on two days?** Sales that clear at different times land on different pay days. Each payout ahead is its own line.
