# Items in the store

**In short:** Each vendor's Summary shows their items still in the store, oldest first, grouped by how long they've been there. When an item leaves without selling, mark what happened to it: picked up, donated, kept by the shop, or lost or damaged. A mark changes nothing in Shopify.

Who: Admin. Where: Vendors > a vendor > Summary.

A consignment shop's shelf space is its stock in trade. Knowing what's been sitting there longest, and what happened to each piece that left without selling, is half of a good relationship with a consignor. VendorDue reads your stock from Shopify and keeps that record for you.

## What's in the store

On a vendor's **Summary**, **In the store** lists their items that are listed and in stock in Shopify, oldest first. Each item counts from the day it was created in Shopify, so the day you listed it. A line above sums it up: "12 items still in the store, 4 over 90 days."

Items are grouped:

| Group | Means |
| --- | --- |
| **Over 90 days** | In stock for longer than their agreement runs |
| **In the store** | In stock, within their agreement |
| **Sold out** | No stock left in Shopify |
| **Archived in Shopify** | You archived the product in Shopify |
| **Marked** | You marked what happened to it |

With an agreement of no end date there's no **Over** group, just the age of each item.

## Mark what happened to an item

When an item leaves without being sold, press **Mark** beside it, choose **What happened to it**, the day, and how many:

| Mark | Means |
| --- | --- |
| **Picked up** | They took it back |
| **Donated** | Given away, as your agreement says |
| **Kept by the shop** | The shop keeps it, by agreement |
| **Lost or damaged** | They are paid their share of it |

Then press the button to save, like **Mark picked up**. **Undo** takes a mark back.

> **Careful:** A mark changes nothing in Shopify. If the item is still listed there, set its stock to zero or archive it in Shopify too, or it can still sell.

## Lost or damaged

If something of theirs is lost or broken in your care, you owe them for it. Marking it **Lost or damaged** asks **They are paid**, filled in with their share of its price, and adds that amount to their next payout, with the item named. If their consignor rate isn't a single share, it starts at the price: change it to what you agreed.

## What the vendor sees

Their agreement page shows their own items still in the store, oldest first, with how long each has been there. They see the marks too, so a pickup is on the record for both of you.

## Common questions

**Where does the listed day come from?** From the day the product was created in Shopify. If Shopify doesn't say, the item reads Listed day unknown.

**Does marking an item remove it from Shopify?** No. VendorDue only reads your store. Change the item in Shopify as well.

**What if an item I marked as picked up sells?** It's a sale like any other, worked out on their terms. If their agreement has ended, Needs attention asks you whether to count it for them.
